DISCIPLESHIP GUIDELINES

I WILL BE PREPARED

• I am willing to commit to 10 Minutes of Tuning to effectively engage in discipleship and I will come prepared to share how God is working in me.

TOOL: Journaling is a great spiritual discipline and may be a valuable resource for Discipleship.  Utilize the Tuning Tool
to help identify what is resonating with you during 10 Minutes of Tuning. 

I WILL SHARE THE CONVERSATION

• While sharing with one another, I will be mindful of keeping my thoughts to 2-4 minutes that that each of us will have equal opportunity to share.

TOOL:  We will need to be encouraged to grow by either:
1. sharing less, by learning to be more concise and specific
2. sharing more, by being willing to step out of our comfort zone

I WILL CONNECT TO JESUS
The goal of discipleship is to help one another connect with Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him and one another. 

• I will be careful not to provide answers or direction, but instead, strive to ask insightful questions that will help one another grow in their ability to seek God for answers and direction.

TOOL: If someone asks "What do you think I should do?", consider insightful questions you can respond with; examples
include "How do you think God is leading you in this situation?, What is the Biblical principle to guide us?, What's the
 real motivation of your heart in this circumstance?".  

I WILL BRING MY EXPERIENCES 

• I will  share my experience of what God has done in my life, the lessons learned, and of His faithfulness to you.

 
TOOL: Be careful of assuming that how God has worked with you, will be how God works in one another.
