Mason Jar Sugar Cookies
One of the ways we can build community, is by baking cookies! Over the next 3 weeks of our Christmas series, we encourage you to invite some friends over or maybe even your small group
& bake cookies together!
Then, bake another batch and bless someone in the community by taking
them to a neighbor or a first responder.
Make sure to take a picture while baking and post it to social media using the hashtag
#COFchristmas
Pastor Alex's Winning Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
¾ cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
Directions:
Gather all ingredients
Beat sugar, and softened butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth.
Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover and chill dough for at least 1 hour(or overnight).
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly dust a work surface with flour. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake in preheated oven until cookies are lightly browned, 6-8 minutes. Carefully transfer cookies to a wire rack and cool completely before decorating.
