If you are following along with me in reading the book Hero Maker, let me give you some of my favorite takeaways from Chapter 1.
Hero makers view ministry as multiplying leaders, not doing everything through them.
Hero makers share what they have learned in ways to multiply people, not just build themselves up.
Hero makers ask God to bless the leaders they are sending out, not to help them use their own gifts.
Hero makers are about Kingdom building, not their ministry building.
On page 26, I love what Isaiah Thomas says about the secret of basketball - It is not really about basketball, it is about chemistry and putting the team above yourself. If we will learn the same secret in life, work, and ministry and we elevate others above ourselves and want to see them succeed more than ourselves, that is the secret to an amazing life and doing amazing things for God.
Jesus knew the secret, Paul knew the secret, and now we have to live out the secret.
