Closer Look

Every Community Intern, whether a summer intern or yearly, will have the opportunity to experience first-hand what it means to submerge yourself in the life of ministry. From classes, to projects in practical ministry at our campuses, we want to create an environment that will push you outside of your comfort zone. During this time you’ll be challenged, you’ll be inspired, and you will grow. Community Interns will receive hands on, one-on-one training with Community of Faith’s pastors & leaders while being involved with the operations of the church. Interns will be surrounded by people who are committed to their development into the next generation of Christian leaders.

Our internship is discipleship-based. Our three main goals are to help you be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. You will find that those three goals are interwoven throughout our internship structure. During your internship, you will be working closely with mentors within our departments, learning to become like them and do what they do. The departments you could serve in are:

  • Children’s Ministry

  • Sound & Service Production

  • Graphic Design & Video

  • Youth Ministry

  • Music & Worship

  • Community Services

Courses

Everyday you will have class, with courses focusing on our three main goals: be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what He did. Our classes are very personal, with a lot of discussion. We will be working to understand what God says about us, to help shape you into that identity through community, discipleship, and vulnerability. We want you to come out of this internship looking more like the person God had in mind when forming you. On top of classes that deal with identity and discipleship, we also provide leadership and financial classes, that will help you develop and implement whatever purpose God has placed on your life.

schedule

The internship runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday for services.  This will allow you to find part-time employment in the off-hours. Each day begins with class, followed by whatever projects you are working on with your mentors/department leaders. You will also have a key role in our church services/events throughout the week. At the end of each day, we will have team time, which is an intentional time of community within the internship team.
